My losing weight goal is on target

I have been terrible about blogging lately.  The last few weeks have been heads down for Lisa, Brad, and me as we get closer to getting our new company out in beta.  Stay tuned, it’s getting really close…

On the fitness front, I have been sporadic on exercising, mostly walking since my 62 mile Skagit Classic bike ride.  I have, however, stuck close to the goals I outlined for cleaning up my eating habits.

As a result, I have now lost 20 pounds so far this year and 36 pounds overall.  I am down to 219 as of this morning.  Lisa also did a body fat comp on me and my body fat was 12.8%.  I know that pinch tests don’t account for subcutaneous fat, so I’m probably closer to 20%.

Either way, I am making good progress so far this year.  Now I REEEAAAALLLYYY need to start getting on my bike!!!

Skagit Classic

Ended up doing better than I thought I would.  I didn’t end up burning up my legs, came in feeling okay.

Tried a few different things on the ride:

  •  Drank around 100 ounces of water
  • Used a lot of electrolytes (want more energy and nuun)
  • Started out in a three person pace line changing out every mile
  • Weight lifting (I think it’s helping my legs)
  • Higher Cadence.  Although I didn’t record it, I could tell I was at a higher cadence.  I think the spin classses help with cadence.

Workout:

  • Type: Cycle
  • Date: 05/12/2007
  • Time: 17:16:48
  • Total Time: 4:26:11.00
  • Average Heart rate: 150
  • Max Heart rate: 176
  • Calories: 3848
  • Distance: 61.3 miles
  • Average Speed: 13.82 mph
  • Ascent: 2,400 ft
