Commute to work - trial run
Tomorrow I officially begin commuting to Sweat365 for work. We have an office in Redmond, and it’s not too far from the Burke-Gilman trail. What it means is that I can bicycle to work - on a trail, and without the 2,100 feet of hills I was getting when I commuted to Bellevue for my old job.
My goal is to use my bicycle as much as possible. It will save money, it’s good for the environment, and I might even drop a pound or two. The commute will be about 30 miles round trip. I am going to plan on it taking an hour each way. The good news is that is about how long it would take to drive, so I am getting two hours of exercise without actually using up any more time than I already would be using.
Today’s trial ride (with Lisa) was fairly uneventful. We did run into the half marathon that Brad and Colleen ran this morning. That slowed us down quite a bit. Otherwise it was exploring the best way to exit the trail and make it to the office. We think we found it, and I am good to go for tomorrow.
