Welcome to my new commute
Today was my official first day commuting to Sweat365. What fun would it be without a hearty Seattle welcome. So the heavens opened up, and dumped on me for the entire ride. I was soaked to the bone.
It wouldn’t have been so bad if I was riding my touring bike. I have fenders, waterproof panniers, etc. But it happens to be sitting at my uncles house at the moment. So I had to take my road bike, and carry a backpack.
Of course the backpack soaked through, so even after getting off the bike I had to put on slightly damp clothes. Lot’s of fun. It was actually a rookie mistake. Backpacking 101 in the Pacific Northwest - put your clothes in plastic bags!!! I guess I’ve been spoiled by my waterproof panniers.
Anyway, I’m now one day in a row. Look out Biking Brady, I’m coming after you (he’s commuted by bike to work over 100 days in a row).
Oh - I also passed 2,000 miles cycling for the year. Only 2,000 more to hit my goal.
