Finally!!!
This is the sixth straight week I have cycled over 100 miles. I am averaging almost two hours a day of exercise during that time (sounds like a lot, but most have come from what otherwise would have been my commute time in a car).
Yet I was up 5 pounds for all my effort. It was driving me crazy. I haven’t been impeccible with my diet, but I feel like I’ve been pretty good with it. So why the weight gain?
At 46, there is no way I can attribute it to muscle. Yes, I put on muscle more easily than the average bear. But five pounds in six weeks by cycling - not happening. More likely, it’s water retention from my body being under stress. But it still was bugging me.
When I look in the mirror, I look leaner. I feel stronger. My clothes are looser. So why the weight gain!!!
This morning I got on the scale, and four of the five pounds have magically gone away. Yay!!! I have no doubt that if I stick to the daily habits, my weight will continue to drop.
It just takes patience some times. . .
