Hobbes really isn’t that smart
Hobbes sent me an email last night. Turns out he is throwing down with Zappoman in our Las Vegas challenge. He even took it a step further. The loser has to pay $50 to the Mary Bridge Children’s Foundation (they help abused children).
Now I really don’t blame Hobbes. Afterall, he’s a stuffed animal with, well, stuffing for brains. I am a little surprised, however that Brad has chosen a stuffed tiger to do his dirty work for him. Brad, meanwhile, remains strangely silent on the whole thing.
It leaves me with some unanswered questions:
- Why is Brad staying silent on this? Is he worried? Is he so confident that it’s not even on his radar screen?
- More importantly, is Brad going to put some money down on himself in this challenge, or is he going to leave it up to his furry friend to fight his battles for him?
Personally, I am now going to up my level of commitment to this. I was working out using the beginner plan for the Half Marathon. After my email exchange with Hobbes, it occurred to me that I could go today and walk 12 miles. Why am I on a plan to build up to that distance? So I am going to up my mileage and work under the intermediate or advanced program. I won’t be doing track work, but I can definitely up my mileage on my long runs immediately.
Sorry Hobbes, you picked the wrong horse this time…
