The Big Climb
Mark and I did the Big Climb today. It was 69 floors, 1,311 steps, and 788 vertical feet. We walked it in 18 minutes flat. My HR averaged 167 with a high of 177.
Perfect training for climbing a mountain later this summer. I just need to do this about once a week…

Step Climber
I got on the step climber at the gym today. Walked up 73 flights of stairs in 20 minutes. Pretty intense workout. I need to do more of this as I get ready to climb Mt. Shasta.

Walk around neighborhood
Lisa dropped Mark and I off at Edmonds beach. We walked the 4.5 miles back to my house. Edmonds hill - probably a 500 foot climb in less than a mile is part of the walk. I ran up half of it. My heart rate got up to 186, and I just couldn’t sustain it. I think this hill is going to be my nemisis as I take on getting in shape to climb Mt Shasta.
Once we got back to my house, we walked a different 4.6 mile loop. It gave us 9.1 total miles with 1,000 feet of elevation gain.
